Apocalypse Now Redux

Rated 5.0 I remember when my dad brought the original edit of Apocalypse Now home from the video store, informed me that I was to watch and learn about the horrors of war, and then subsequently berated himself because he forgot how many times the word “fuck” was used. For the first time, many of us who were too young to witness the film on big screens now get a chance, and a treasured chance it is. The film has lost none of its power, and it features restored footage that sometimes enhances the film and actually fleshes out the Martin Sheen character. The new version shows that Coppola had originally intended something far more political, and while some of the new stuff could’ve remained lost, it does not diminish the movie’s impact.
