Issue: March 17, 2016
Hey, there.
We've got our annual teen issue this week. It features drawings,
paintings and photography from Washoe County students. McQueen high
school journalists Hojin Stella Jung and Alice Samberg wrote profile
pieces about two of the featured artists. I received so many submissions
for this year's teen issue! There wasn't space for all of them, but you
can check out more teen art and writing by going to the RN&R website and
visiting my blog space: Special Sauce.
Elsewhere in the paper, it's a week for predictions. News editor Dennis
Myers gives us a history lesson and political forecast in which he
predicts an issue that will shape the campaign year ahead. On a less
serious note—after watching an unsettling (but entertaining) film at the
theater, Bob Grimm foresees a movie anthology. And in Neon Babylon,
Bruce Van Dyke thinks he knows what will finally bring an end to Donald
Trump's political aspirations.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy this issue and the fine Spring
weather we're supposed to get across Northern Nevada. Send us your
letters to the editor. We love to hear from you.
Regards,
Jeri Chadwell-Singley
