Water grab delayed
Hearings on a plan to transfer water from eastern Nevada and western Utah have been pushed back to 2011, taking opponents of the plan by surprise.
The state water engineer granted the two-year delay at the request of the Southern Nevada Water Authority, which said its computer modeling was not ready for hearings.
SNWA wants to pipe water from an aquifer astride the Utah-Nevada border to Clark County.
