Nevada first son James Gibbons, a Navy midshipman currently detached as an academic officer to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Long Island, appeared in an April 17 Fox News report on Merchant Marine training for pirate incidents.

“We’re trying to make it second nature for us to be able to respond as quickly and as efficiently as possible for these pirate attacks,” Gibbons said in the segment.

He was shown in a ship simulator as part of a team responding to a pirate attack.

“I was just so proud,” said his mother, Dawn Gibbons, after she viewed the report.

“He did a really nice interview, and he knew what he was talking about,” she said.
