The Hours

Rated 5.0 A staggeringly beautiful adaptation of Michael Cunningham’s novel about author Virginia Woolf (Nicole Kidman) and two women (Julianne Moore and Meryl Streep) cosmically tied to her writing. While the film is set in three time periods, director Stephen Daldry makes the transitions seamless. When you add up all of these fantastic performances, this qualifies as the best-acted film of 2002. Winner of Golden Globes for Best Picture (Drama) and Best Actress (Kidman).
