Igby Goes Down

Rated 4.0 Kieran Culkin is incredible as Igby, a troublesome rich kid kicked out of every private school on the East Coast and hiding away in a New York City loft. Culkin shows much more range than brother MacCauley, and knows his way around a crying scene. The supporting cast is excellent, including Jeff Goldblum as a sunny family friend with a vicious dark side, and Susan Sarandon as Igby’s domineering, altogether strange mother. The film has a nice dark comic touch, and has a little The Graduate vibe going for it.
