Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay

The first adventure for this stoner duo (played winningly by Harold Cho and Kal Penn) was a hilarious and gross howl. This time out, it’s just gross. The sequel picks up where the first film left off, with Kumar (Penn) taking a huge White Castle shit as Harold showers. Things generally go down from there as the two are mistaken for terrorists on an airplane and taken to the title location. A lot of the first film’s gags, including the big pot bag and Neil Patrick Harris, return, and it’s just not as funny this time out. There is one bit involving a Cyclops boy that had me laughing hard. It’s wonderfully creepy, and the film needed 10 more moments like it. I wouldn’t mind seeing the further adventures of these two because Cho and Penn are great together. They just need a better script and better directors.
