The Sierra Club hosts a book discussion with author Jen Huntley. Huntley, an environmental historian, writer and sustainability consultant, will talk about her new book The Making of Yosemite: James Mason Hutchings and the Origin of America’s Most Popular Park. James Mason Hutchings led the first tourist expedition into Yosemite in 1855 and spent his life as an advocate for the park. Jan. 12, 7:30 p.m., 605 Washington St. Free.
