Cash in for compost

Atlantic Casino Resort Spa has adopted organics recycling and single-stream recycling in conjunction with Waste Management Inc.’s move toward establishing single-stream options throughout the community. According to WM, Atlantis is the first casino to use a compost program, in which food scraps and organic material will be composted. According to WM and a report in Waste and Recycling News, an estimated 80 yards of organic materials each month will be composted rather than sent to a landfill. The single-stream program is also intended to help cut down on waste created by the casino.
