Catch Me If You Can

Another banner year for director Steven Spielberg concludes with this chase movie, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Abagnale, Jr., one of the more notorious check bouncers and impersonators in American history. DiCaprio is a marvel in the role, portraying a man who successfully impersonated an airline pilot, a doctor and a college professor, some while he was still a teenager. While Spielberg and crew certainly take some artistic license with the wild story, the truth at its core is mind blowing. Tom Hanks is fantastic as the FBI man on Abagnale’s trail. A great-looking, highly enjoyable piece of filmmaking.
