Philanthropic collaboration

Paradise Community Foundation and North Valley Community Foundation join forces

The Paradise Community Foundation is partnering up with Chico-based North Valley Community Foundation.

According to the Paradise Post, PCF approached NVCF about joining forces. The small nonprofit was struggling with the economy, being run solely by volunteers. The goal of the merger with the larger nonprofit is to reduce overhead costs and maximize the amount of philanthropic work in the Paradise Ridge.

NVCF, which conducts the annual Annie B’s Community Drive, has decades of nonprofit philanthropy experience. The foundation works with more than 400 charities with $3 million in yearly grants.

The partnership will shutter a Ridge office. However, members of the board of the PCF will advise the NVCF on efforts in the region.
