The Santa Clause 2

Former Tool Time host Tim Allen returns in this marginally fun family sequel as advertising executive Scott Calvin, who has successfully filled in for Saint Nick ever since the rotund fellow fatally fell from Scott’s roof. This year, with Christmas soon approaching, Scott has two huge problems: His son has landed on the naughty list, and a “Mrs. Clause” in his contract requires him to get married by Christmas Eve or stop being Saint Nick. With the de-Santafication process beginning (Santa’s beard is shortening, and he is losing weight), Scott returns home to find a mate and check on his troubled son. He leaves behind a duplicate toy Santa to run the shop whose own harsh interpretation of the naughty-or-nice list threatens to ruin the holiday. Michael Lembeck directs this thinly plotted slice of Christmas spirit, and the Tooth Fairy (Art LaFleur) steals several scenes between appearances of flying, flatulating reindeer.
