Meet the Parents

In one of the finer comedic pairings of recent years, Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro get many laughs, and in Stiller’s case, our sympathies as he plays a man meeting his girlfriend’s parents for the first time. Stiller excels at this put-upon-guy sort of comedy, and De Niro continues to reveal new surprises from his acting arsenal. Directed by Jay Roach (the Austin Powers movies), the film revels in very cruel comedy, and it hits all the right notes. There will probably be a sequel.
