Kyoto 10 year timeline/charts/graphs
Ten years ago, the developed nations of the world came together in Kyoto, Japan, and negotiated a treaty known as the Kyoto Protocol. It was at this December 1997 conference sponsored by the United Nations that delegates agreed for the first time to act collectively to stave off global warming by stabilizing greenhouse-gas missions.
Ultimately, 172 countries signed the treaty. Notably absent from the list of participants was the United States. What follows is a 10-year timeline and review of some of the pertinent numbers and trends related to global warming.
