Welcome to week's Reno News & Review!

Do you enjoy short fiction? I mean really short fiction. I mean plot, setting, character, emotion and intrigue, packed into one efficient paragraph or so. Readers sent about 200 stories in to our annual 95-word fiction contest, and this week we present the winners.

In News, Dennis Myers takes a look at the first year of the Trump presidency and reports on the Women's March. Theater critic Jessica Santina found Reno Little Theater's production of Steel Magnolias—which opened on the same weekend the Women's March occurred—to be aptly timed and still resonant 31 years after it was first produced. And Todd South introduces us to the heavenly sliders at Battle Born Social in Carson City.
