Issue: December 28, 2017

Hello Readers,
Welcome to this week's Reno News & Review! As 2018 sneaks up rapidly, we take a look back at some of the best of 2017.
The Brothers Grimm teamed up for a look back at the good, the bad and the abhorrent in movies this year. Nobody takes movie misdeeds to task—be they cinematic trespasses or the sexual misconduct that made headline after headline—like RN&R's movie guy, Bob Grimm. And nobody draws hilarious illustrations of Bob critiquing movies like his brother, Mike Grimm, who also pens the weekly Apoca-Clips comic.
Brad Bynum, Editor and music adviser extraordinaire, compiled his annual picks for 2017s best albums. Of course, best-of lists are products of their authors' tastes and contexts. Think of this one not as an objective roundup of the year's best-produced or most cutting-edge, but as a tasty buffet of soul-soothing comfort food.
We've also got all of the usual news, arts and music coverage this week. And check out the calendar if you haven't yet decided how you'll welcome in 2018.
Whether you're planning an epic night of carousing, a family-friendly gathering, or a quiet night with the cat, may your New Year's Eve be everything you hope it will be, and may your 2018 be full of wonderful people, places and experiences.
Thanks for reading the RN&R!
