Issue: January 26, 2017

Dear Friends,

This week the Reno News & Review will update a story that has been below the

radar for many years-the fate of Spirit Cave Man, the ancient resident of

the Great Basin whose remains have been the subject of a jurisdictional

battle between science and native tribes. In our cover story, Frank Mullen

will describe how the clash was finally settled.

Elsewhere in this week's edition, we will have full coverage of what was

likely the largest demonstration in Reno history-the January 21 women's

march in the downtown, estimated by police at about 10,000 people. We will

have several reports, photos, and commentaries.

And as usual, there will be pieces on the arts and culture of our area. Be

sure to pick up the print edition for print-only features.

Thank you for reading us.

Take care,
