Issue: January 19, 2017

Hi everybody!
This is a time of wild transitions. For Nevadans, it's not just the end
of the Obama presidency, it's also the end of Harry Reid's tenure in the
U.S. Senate. Reid has been reppin' our state for decades, and, as the
Democrats' floor leader, he became a figure of national prominence–for
better or worse. Our ace news editor, Dennis Myers, has been following
Reid's career since the beginning, and in this week's cover story, he
looks back on some of the high points and low points.
Also in this week's issue, we have our annual bridal guide, an
overstuffed bouquet full of helpful information if you plan to get
married this year or next year or any year. Movie reviewer Bob Grimm
tackles Scorsese's latest offering, theater critic Jessica Santina
reviews a production she says moved her to tears, and columnist Bruce
Van Dyke offers up more fodder for the angry letter writers who love to
read his stuff.
As always, be sure to pick up a newsprint copy of the paper for
exclusive columns, cartoons and fire kindling.
Thanks for reading! If it weren't for you, we'd have no reason to put on
our pants.
