Issue: December 15, 2016

Hey everybody!
You probably know that the so-called "Electoral College" is not a
degree-granting institution of higher learning. But it's also not the
ironclad institution of American democracy that some people think it is.
In this week's RN&R feature story, news editor Dennis Myers debunks some
of the myths about the Electoral College.
Also in this week's issue, goofball film critic Bob Grimm picks his
favorite holiday movie characters, music writer Kent Irwin profiles a
surf rock group from Lake Tahoe, and restaurant reviewer Todd South
tries out some new grub at a local Vietnamese joint–with mixed results.
As always, be sure to pick up a newsprint copy of the paper for
exclusive columns, cartoons and wrapping paper for all those presents
you still need to buy.
Thanks for reading! If it weren't for you, we'd probably have to take up
caroling.
