Issue: August 11, 2016

Welcome to this week's RN&R. It's hard to believe that we're nearly half way through August already. Washoe County kids went back to school on Monday. The college set is preparing to head off to campus in just a few short weeks, and people across the region and the globe are making their final preparations for Burning Man. Here in the newsroom, we're enjoying the relative calm after the excitement and late nights that come with our annual Best of Northern Nevada issue.
This week's feature story is about the experiences of a Nevada delegate at the Democratic National Convention. And news editor Dennis Meyers has more on the harassment allegations faced by Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger.
Arts & Culture editor Kris Vagner brings us up-to-date on happenings at the Nevada Museum of Art. Megan Berner takes us inside the collaborative work space shared by the artists and entrepreneurs of Artech. And I've got a story about the Helios Band, the traditional Greek band that will headline Reno's Greek Festival on Aug. 20.You'll also find our Join the Pack guide, with stories and advice from current University of Nevada, Reno students, tucked inside this week's issue.
Pick up a copy of the paper at your favorite restaurant or bar to see cartoons and columns that are not available online. And send us your letters to the editor, or just drop us a line sometime. We love hearing from you.
Regards,
Jeri Chadwell-Singley
