Issue: November 20, 2014

Dear Folks,
In the news section of the Reno News & Review this week, we will have
quotations from more than a decade of Nevada Assemblymember Ira
Hansen's newspaper column. Hansen has been designated by Assembly
Republicans as their candidate for speaker in the legislature that
convenes in a few weeks. The views in his columns have not been
familiar outside Sparks because the Sparks Tribune, which carried the
Hansen column, was late going on line. Our article will be a revelation.
In other parts of the N&R, Sage Leehey writes about the Great Basin
Food Co-op's "Home for Thanksgiving" campaign to encourage locals to
use locally produced ingredients in their holiday meals. Kent Irwin
profiles local band Boss' Daughter, Georgia Fisher checks out the
Reno Magick Store, and Ashley Hennefer takes a look at a very Nevada
art exhibit, Painting the West, at Stremmel Gallery.
Remember that the print edition has features not posted online, so
pick up a copy.
Thank you for reading us.
Take care,
Dennis Myers,
News editor
