"And we're always trying to make excuses for who we are or we get
upset when the Muppets tear us down."
Dear Folks,
This week in the Reno News & Review, Brad Bynum convenes a round
table discussion by some smart people in business, the arts, and
marketing to talk about Reno's image-- whether it's bad, whether it's
good, and whether it should matter.
In Green, Sage Leehey looks at an education program by an outfit
called Black Rock Solar that sets up free instructional programs for
non-profits, schools and tribes. In news, we'll examine what didn't
get said in the report on the Sparks Middle School shooting.
Laura Davis profiles Reno musician Brandon Ritter Lund and his
efforts at recovery after a professional stumble. Bob Grimm gives
Godzilla the Bob Grimm treatment. Brad Bynum does more duty to give
Candace Nicol's male nudes the once-over. And Bruce Van Dyke takes an
arachnatour of the Nevada desert not everyone would relish.
And remember to pick up our print edition for exclusive columns,
cartoons, and person-on-the-street interviews. Thank you for reading us.
