Issue: January 16, 2014
Hi everybody,
Bob, the Grimm reaper, the most hated man in Reno movie criticism,
wrote the Reno News & Review cover story for the second week in a
row. Last week, Bob amazed, astounded and annoyed you with his picks
for 2013's best movies and acting performances. This week, Bob
strains the limits of reality, bending space and time ... BOB GRIMM
PREDICTS THE FUTURE. Using magical powers of clairvoyance beyond the
capabilities of most feeble mortal minds, Bob looks ahead to the
coming year of cinema and makes bold, astonishing claims about which
movies will rule, and which movies will suck, and which movies will
be just OK. It's up to you to decide whether you want to know your own fate.
Also in this week's issue, news editor Dennis Myers examines Nevada's
perennial low ranking in national evaluations of education, Laura
Davis tastes the cold weather seasonal beers offered by local
breweries, and Sage Leehey interviews the university's associate
dean of engineering about a new program studying unmanned, autonomous
systems--drones.
As always, be sure to pick up a newsprint copy of the paper for
exclusive columns, cartoons and fire kindling.
Thanks for reading! If it weren't for you, we'd have no one to talk
to other than Bob Grimm.
