Issue: March 29, 2012
Dear Folks,
If sex were sugar, this week would be a diabetic issue of the Reno
News & Review. Local sex columnist Caitlin Thomas’s cover story
traces her evolution. Ben Garrido gives local band Rigorous Proof
the once-over and in Green, Ashley Hennefer covers a new way to
encourage green businesses. Jessica Santini writes about a DVD
release of short movies by Reno filmmakers. Dave Preston samples the
fare at Franz’s Backstrube Austrian Bakery Cafe. Bruce Van Dyke
takes us on another of his highway hops, this one the 450-mile trip
between Reno and Las Vegas, which he says has improved in both food
and lodging. (The scenery remains the same.) Bob Grimm writes about
the totally derivative Hunger Games. In news, we look at how the
local Democratic organization is trying to help its city council candidates.
Thank you for reading us. If not for you, we’d have trouble scoring.
Take care,
Dennis Myers
