Issue: September 01, 2011

Hi everybody,
In this week's cover story, news editor Dennis Myers takes a look at
creeping racism against people of Arab and Muslim heritage in the United
States and here in the Biggest Little City next to Sparks. Along other
lines, I'm still looking for a new liberal columnist. If you'd like to be
considered to fill the columnist position, send three 600-word sample
columns on local politics to brianb@newsreview.com. Also in this week's
newspaper, Brad Bynum has a great conversation with Lindsey Buckingham of
Fleetwood Mac; he even breaks some news about the band. Plus, we've got a
new food writer who's taking our FoodFinds column in a different
direction. I'll bet you recognize his name. In fact, there's too much
this week to write about in a newsletter introduction, but feel free to
click the links below for all of Northern Nevada's best news, arts and
entertainment, but be sure to pick up a newsprint copy for exclusive
content like cartoons and columns. As always, thanks for reading our
newsweekly. If not for you, we'd probably be working on our post-graduate
studies.
