Issue: June 09, 2011

Hi everybody,
¿Como estan? It often seems like teenagers and their parents are speaking entirely different languages, but in some local families, they actually are: The kids speak English as a primary language, and their parents speak Spanish. In this week's cover story, new contributor Rachel Breithaupt examines how this communication breakdown affects their relationships. In Green this week, Kat Kerlin writes about the end of Nevada EcoNet, the organization that has put on the local Earth Day events for decades. And, in A&C, Megan Berner talks to a local man who collects the artistic relics of Nevada's casino heyday, neon signs. Be sure to pick up a paper copy of this week's issue for exclusive cartoons and columns.
Thanks for reading! If it weren't for you, we'd be incomunicado.
