Thanks again

Welcome to this week’s Reno News & Review.

Big thanks to all the folks who came out last Friday, Sept. 15, to our Best of Northern Nevada winners’ party at the Nevada Museum of Art. It was great to see so many of the region’s business owners and personalities all dressed to impress and ready to rage. It was a busy, boppin’ good time, and there were so many people there that I wanted to catch up with and didn’t even get a chance to talk to. So if I didn’t get a chance to say this in person—or if I had the chance, got distracted and blew it—congrats!

I had a blast and hope everybody else did too. Thanks to the museum and its gracious staff for letting us take the place over. Thanks to Greater Nevada Credit Union for sponsoring the event. Thanks to Chef Mark Estee and his team for what I heard was fantastic food, although I never personally got a chance to eat anything. (I had to do some MC duties and am superstitious about eating anything beforehand if I’m going to go anywhere near a microphone.) Big thanks to my friend DJ Tigerbunny for spinning the steel wheels for the party.

Freelance photographer Eric Marks, a regular contributor to these pages, snapped a whole slew of photos, which we’ll have up on our website soon. And we also had the Traveling Photo Booth there, and they got a bunch of photos as well, many of which have already been popping up on social media. But it’s a real joy to scroll though the whole batch and see all of the smiling, happy folks proud of the work they do for this community.

And for any winners who weren’t able to attend the party, y’all can still pick up your plaques at our office, 760 Margrave Drive. Contact our sales manager, Emily Litt, at emilyl@newsreview.com, with any questions.

Thanks again to all of you who do your best and made time to party with us. And I promise you this: next year will be even better.
