UBU THE KING: Nevada Repertory Company presents Alfred Jarry revolutionary satire, Ubu Roi, which scandalized his audience when it debuted at the Theatre de l’Oeuvre in Paris in 1895. Developed from a schoolboy farce, Ubu Roi began with a four-letter word, defied all the traditions of the stage and ridiculed values of the bourgeois society. The script for this production will be adapted, translated and improvised by University of Nevada, Reno students to recapture the outrage, lewdness and satire of Jarry’s original. This production contains crude language and humor.
