Just like her Big Fat Liar
costar Frankie Muniz (current star of the lousy Agent Cody Banks
), promising actress Amanda Bynes gets plunked into a piece of derivative crap. Bynes stars as a young New Yorker who longs for her long-lost daddy, a stuffy English Lord played by Colin Firth. She travels to England where coming-of-age rituals await and multiple bad music video montages ensue. Another fish-out-of-water story that feels like a thousand other movies, offering nothing interesting for the talented Bynes. She’s forced to mug and strain for laughs, and it’s often hard to watch.
