Large sections of grass have been taken up on the University of Nevada, Reno, campus, most of them in straight lines or geometric patterns. A campus spokesperson said it’s part of a project underway since December to upgrade “the high temperature hot water system for all of campus. … Facilities Services is completing a construction project that will route new heating water and electrical lines from Lombardi Recreation Center south down West Stadium Way to Fitzgerald Student Services [building].” About 20,000 feet of grass is being replaced as a part of the project, which should conclude about May 1.
