Unstoppable
Denzel Washington and Chris Pine star as a couple of train conductors suddenly thrust into a situation with another runaway train on the same track. The runaway train is, of course, full of explosive materials and is headed for heavily populated areas, with the at-odds duo the only real option for stopping the thing. This is the umpteenth time Washington has teamed with director Tony Scott, and it’s just the kind of empty-headed good time you expect from Scott, and not much more. Pine follows up his fun turn as Captain Kirk as a guy who just might have a bigger dramatic future than William Shatner. Rosario Dawson has some good moments as the boss lady back in the office looking at big TV screens and worrying a lot.
