UNR is bike-ier than ever
More students and faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno are riding their bikes than ever, according to data from the Parking and Transportation Services. There were 551 bikes registered on campus this fall—the highest amount on record—compared to 398 bikes last year. All of the campus’ 48 bike lockers are also rented, and there’s a short waiting list for them, according to an article by John Trent on the university’s website. Use of alternative transportation in general on campus has increased. Trent cites Michelle Horton of Parking and Transportation as saying that only 870 people were using alternative transportation to campus in 2002, compared to 1,843 people now.
