Tree of a kind

For shade, fruit, air, the birds, or just plain beauty, you’ve decided to plant a tree, maybe a few of them. But which trees are right for the Truckee Meadows? More specifically, which trees are right for your yard?

The Truckee Meadows Community Forestry Coalition has released its “Recommended List of Trees” at www.communityforestry.org. The list—ranging from apple to zelkova—was developed by TMCFC’s team of certified arborists and details the specific qualities and needs of more than 70 species of trees right for this region.
