Treasure Planet

A mediocre entry into the Disney animation archives, this one puts a sci-fi spin on Treasure Island, with pretty boring results. An adventure-seeking kid seeks out Treasure Planet instead of Treasure Island, with Long John Silver being half robotic. The story has a convoluted message about fatherhood, and the intense moments had more kids crying at a screening than I’ve ever witnessed before. The animation is semi-impressive, but not show-stopping. I would say this one is for kids only, but being that so many of them were screaming their little heads off, I’m not so sure that would be the truth.
