Transmission of power

NV Energy is requesting authority to begin construction on a transmission line that would allow renewable energy to be delivered throughout the state. The request to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada described the One Nevada Transmission Line (ON Line) as being a 235-mile, 500 kV transmission line with an initial transfer capability of about 600 megawatts to run from Robinson Summit near Ely to the existing Harry Allen 500 kV substation northeast of Las Vegas. Depending on regulatory approvals, the line could be in service by mid-2012.
