There will be cantaloupe

After word to the contrary was spread, it turns out the Fallon Cantaloupe Festival will have a 25th year this September. In May, the Fallon Chamber of Commerce announced it would not be able to fund the festival as it has in years past. But recently, members of the Fallon Farmers Market voted unanimously to put the festival on themselves. They’ve changed the official name of the event to “The Heart of Gold Cantaloupe Farmers Market,” which will take place Sept. 5-7 on the Churchill County Fairgrounds.
