The Good Guys
If you have any interest in pursuing a career in the mafia or the FBI, this is the book for you. Bonanno, of New York’s infamous Bonanno crime family, and Pistone, the real life Donnie Brasco, do a remarkable job telling the non-Hollywood truth of their chosen professions through this novel, infusing the story with their personal experiences. The FBI and a wise-guy crew are each trying, in their own ways, to connect the dots on the brutal torture and murder of a made mobster and a missing Russian translator. The plot never takes a break in this book and, surprisingly, the story has a great humorous aspect to it.
