Still petitioning

Signature gatherers are still getting signatures on pro-gun petitions at the Department of Motor Vehicles, as they have been all summer (“Petitions,” RN&R, June 15). The petitions do not seek to place measures on the ballot—no such legal petitions have been filed with the secretary of state’s office. Readers have informed us they have filed complaints with both the DMV and the secretary of state about the petitioners. The DMV told us they have not, contrary to rumors, barred the petitioners from the property. The secretary of state’s office has not responded.
