Stamp of approval

If you’re on food stamps, you might think you’re facing a culinary road lined with peanut butter and mac and cheese. However, the Great Basin Community Food Co-op now offers an alternative. The co-op now accepts food stamps. Located at 542 1/2 Plumas St., GBCFC carries sustainably grown food from local and regional farmers, as well as a number of dairy, vegan, dried and bulk foods and products. You don’t need to be a co-op member to shop there, though members get discounts. For more information, call 324-6133, or visit www.greatbasinfood.coop.
