Stage pick of the week
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma broke box office records when it opened on Broadway in 1943 and now the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company presents their own version. The story of a simpler time in the Oklahoma territory of the 1900s, the musical tells the story of a dreamy cowboy who falls in love with the farmer’s daughter and the hired farmhand who is a rival for her affection. Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2, 8-9, 15-16 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 3, 10, 17. Tickets are $14, $12 for students and seniors and $8 ages 5-17. Performances are held at Carson City Community Center, 50 E. William St., Carson City. Call 445-4249 for tickets.
