Snow Storm

Mike Alger

I used to think of Ned Flanders when I watched KTVN Channel 2 weatherman Mike Alger. Then I read Alger’s novel, Snow Storm. Now I’m going to bypass the mental “hi diddily doodily” when I see him and wonder what he really means by forecasting snow blowing into town. His protagonist is a weatherman Greg O’Brien, who gets mixed up with a cocaine cartel, avoids repeated assassination attempts by a psychotic Australian hit man, takes the law into his own hands and lives to tell the tale. Snow Storm is similar to A Clear and Present Danger, except with a Christian soldier rather than an American boy scout as the main character. Read this one, and you’ll never watch the Channel 2 weather the same way.
