Small leader By Dennis Myers This article was published on 10.06.11 Elementary school student Alex Miller spoke at a Banned Books reading last week sponsored by the Washoe County Library, UNR Creative Writing Club and the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada. Last year Miller’s copy of Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction was confiscated in the school cafeteria. The book provides instructions for how to build things like rubber band-power catapults with which to fire spitballs. The teacher did not confiscate any such toys, only the book. Miller was well received at the Banned Books event.Photo By DENNIS MYERS More Local Stories » News Pic Grief site A Carson City wall has become a place for mourning since the IHOP shooting.
