The Great Basin Community Food Co-op’s plans to move into its new location are progressing but a little behind schedule. While the upstairs additions and balcony are complete, the co-op announced to its members that getting the new site’s heating and air conditioning system took longer than planned. They now expect to move from 542 1/2 Plumas St., to 240 Court St., in October, rather than Sept. 1.
The co-op also announced it’s received a grant from the Nevada Department of Agriculture to host outside edible urban landscaping demonstrations at the new location, which will include planters filled with herbs, greens, fruit trees, berries and vegetables.
