Slow water

Only a trickle of water is passing through the Orr Ditch, a canal that crosses UNR. The water supply for the Truckee Meadows is heavily dependent on the Sierra snowpack, which has been larger than average during part of the winter but has also been melting rapidly because sunlight has been present more frequently—and temperatures higher—than usual.
