The Reno Philharmonic opens its 38th season this weekend with a program of exotic music. Guest artists Sérgio and Odair Assad, pictured, will perform Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto Madrigal for Two Guitars. The Grammy award-winning guitarists have also worked with artists such as cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. During the two concerts, the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Weber and Zoltán Kodály’s Háry János Suite . The concerts start at 4 p.m. Sept. 10 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, 100 S. Virginia St. Tickets are $24-$58. Call 323-6393 or visit www.renophil.com.
