Scarlett Johansson is the latest to do a horrible Woody Allen impersonation, and she does it with the guy standing right next to her on screen. When young American reporter Sondra Pransky (Johansson) sees the spirit of a dead reporter (Ian McShane) while taking part in a magic trick, she gets a tip regarding a serial killer in London. The possible killer is rich guy Peter Lyman, who is just too dreamy to be a stone-cold killer. While investigating, Sondra falls for Peter, and Woody is along for the ride, playing a magician touring England. Woody is his usual bumbling self, and Johansson basically mimics him. The plot contains but a few laughs, all of them belonging to Woody himself, who can still deliver the occasional classic one-liner. This film is further proof that Allen has lost his touch when it comes to comedies.
