PunchDrunk Love

Rated 4.0 Adam Sandler takes a dramatic diversion from his usual slob comedies for this strange and wonderful film from writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia). Sandler plays Barry, a quiet toiletry salesman with a tendency for episodic rage and a psycho phone sex girl who makes his life a living hell. He falls in love with one of his seven sisters’ friends (Emily Watson) and goes to great extremes to express his feelings. Funny and truly original, Sandler proves he has major acting ability. His Barry is one of the more interesting characters put to screen this year.
