Phone book recycling
The annual AT&T Project Redirectory program is now underway through Dec. 31. Last year, the program collected 120 tons of phone books in the area, which were then recycled into new phone books. For every ton recycled, AT&T is donating 17 trees to local parks. For a list of the many drop-off locations in Washoe County, Reno and Sparks, go to the Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful website, www.ktmb.org/calendar.htm.
