Palin boosts Obama coverage

Sarah Palin was in Reno for two gun events last week, a Jan. 26 speech to the Weatherby Foundation and a Jan. 29 speech to a big game hunter’s convention.

A New York Times reporter, Jesse McKinley, was in Reno to cover Palin’s speech at the Weatherby event, but his ticket was returned to him, and he was barred from the event, perhaps an instance of the spread of Sharron Angle’s press relations strategy.

The resourceful McKinley headed across town and covered a Democratic “watch party” for President Obama’s state of the union address and filed a report on that party instead of on Palin.
