On hand for history

Sexual preference leaders from throughout the nation, including two Nevadans, flooded into Washington, D.C., to attend President Obama’s signing of legislation that put an end to the “Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell” policy from the Clinton years that prevented gay men and women from serving openly in the military.

Aid for AIDS of Nevada founder Jerry Cade and Stonewall Democrats of Southern Nevada chair Derek Washington both attended the ceremony, which was moved to an Interior Department auditorium to handle the crowd.
